Joe Stein, of Medialets, will be giving the following talk at Cassandra NYC: How to Use Cassandra As The Central Nervous System Of Distributed Systems.

Here is the summary of Joe’s presentation, in his own words:

As the most-widely deployed mobile rich media advertising platform, we have to coordinate thousands of services in production to support hundreds of millions of mobile users. We need to persist and share information between these systems and also aggregate real-time multidimensional metrics within them. Cassandra not only provides us with the ability to handle both of these, but does so in a highly available and linearly scalable way that also provides our development team reduced cycles to go live. These uses of Cassandra will be discussed around the hows and whys of implementation within a distributed system environment.

Joe Stein works at Medialets, where he is the Chief Architect and head of their server side development & production operations. Joe has been a distributed systems developer and architect for over 10 years. He has built a variety of product solutions, security solutions, information exchanges and has been responsible for running them as services across different verticals.
