DataStax Appoints Tony Kavanagh as Chief Marketing Officer
Salesforce.com Marketing Executive Joins Leading NoSQL Database Company

Kavanagh joins DataStax as the company is experiencing exponential growth and international expansion driven by enterprise customer migrations from relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle to DataStax’s Apache Cassandra™ &emdash; based NoSQL solutions.

Prior to joining DataStax, Kavanagh was the CMO at Desk.com, a Salesforce.com company and VP of Marketing for Salesforce.com’s Service Cloud, the worlds #1 customer service application. He was VP of Marketing for InQuira Inc., the leader in Knowledge Management and spent four years leading marketing for XOJET, the world’s fastest growing private jet company. He also spent eleven years at Oracle, holding a series of marketing leadership roles both in the US and EMEA, including the VP of Marketing for the UK Region.
Kavanagh was born in Dublin, Ireland and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Masters in Business Degrees from University College, Dublin. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Kavanagh’s appointment extends the leadership bench for the company and follows a series of Silicon Valley executives who have recently joined DataStax, including Dennis Wolf as chief financial officer and Clint Smith as general counsel.
