Billy BosworthCEOBilly is responsible for the day-to-day operations of DataStax. He has 20 years of experience in the database industry in roles ranging from DBA to senior executive. Prior to DataStax, Billy spent 6 years at Quest Software, a provider of systems management software, where his most recent role was VP and GM of the database business unit. Under his leadership, the industry-leading Quest database business grew from supporting traditional relational databases to a portfolio that now includes tools for cloud, NoSQL, columnar, and Hadoop databases, as well as business intelligence offerings. Prior to Quest, Billy led product teams for Embarcadero Technologies’ database productivity solutions. Billy holds a bachelor of science in computer science from the University of Louisville. |
Jonathan EllisCTO, VP of Engineering, and co-founderJonathan is CTO and co-founder at DataStax. Prior to DataStax, Jonathan worked extensively with Apache Cassandra while employed at Racksace. Prior to Rackspace, Jonathan built a multi-petabyte, scalable storage system based on Reed-Solomon encoding for backup provider Mozy. In addition to his work with DataStax, Jonathan is project chair of Apache Cassandra. |

Matt PfeilVP of Customer Solutions and co-founderMatt is VP of Customer Solutions and co-founder at DataStax, the commercial leader in Apache Cassandra™. Prior to DataStax, Matt built and managed the Email and Apps infrastructure development group at Rackspace. Prior to Rackspace, Matt was at Webmail.us where he worked in various management roles in infrastructure and scalability. Matt holds a BS from Virginia Tech in Computer Science. |

Robin SchumacherVP of ProductsRobin Schumacher has spent the last 20 years working with databases and big data. He comes to DataStax from EnterpriseDB, where he built and led a market-driven product management group. Previously, Robin started and led the product management team at MySQL for three years before they were bought by Sun (the largest open source acquisition in history), and then by Oracle. He also started and led the product management team at Embarcadero Technologies, which was the #1 IPO in 2000. Robin is the author of three database performance books and frequent speaker at industry events. Robin holds BS, MA, and Ph.D. degrees from various universities. |
Michael WeirVP of MarketingMichael is VP of Marketing at DataStax. Prior to DataStax, Michael was Senior Director of Marketing for ParAccel and was responsible for product marketing, sales enablement, and analyst and press relations. Prior to ParAccel, Michael worked at Cisco Systems where he held multiple marketing roles, most recently as Manager, Product Marketing for Mobile and Web Security. Michael has held senior marketing roles at IronPort, PostX, ActZero, WebMD and E*Trade. Michael received a BA with Honors in Media from the University of California, San Diego. |

Dan CarrollDirector of Worldwide SalesDan is Director of Worldwide Sales at DataStax. Prior to DataStax, Dan was Regional Sales Manager at Riverbed, leading sales efforts for their network monitoring and analytics division in the West. Previously, Dan worked in Sales at Cisco in the IronPort security division. Dan also held Sales Management positions at startups Listen.com (now Rhapsody) and Newmedia.com. Dan received a BS in Finance at the University of Rhode Island. |
