Thanks for the information. Turns out that 1.2's releases changed naming schemes so the release option wouldn't work, so I've updated the AMI.

Thanks for the report!

Example:

--clustername '1' --totalnodes 1 --version Community --release 1.2.0
...

------------------------------------
DataStax AMI for DataStax Enterprise
and DataStax Community
AMI version 2.4
DataStax Community version 1.2.0-1

------------------------------------

"Could you try 1.2.2-1 instead?"

Cluster started with these options:
--clustername Extend --totalnodes 1 --version community --opscenter no --release 1.2.2-1

[...]

------------------------------------
DataStax AMI for DataStax Enterprise
and DataStax Community
AMI version 2.4
DataStax Community version 1.2.3-1

------------------------------------

It use to work without the "-1" suffix anyway. I did it a few weeks ago with this exact same release of C* (1.2.2). Yet, a downgrade works just fine, so there is no problem for me. I just wanted to report you the bug.

Hello Alain,

Could you try 1.2.2-1 instead?

The release numbers have to match what's given here:
http://debian.datastax.com/community/pool

And you'll notice that the versioning is sometimes a bit different. Sorry for this slight tediousness!

Thanks,
Joaquin

Hi,

I am unable to chose the release from the Datastax AWS AMI : ami-b2212dc6

Cluster started with these options:
--clustername Extend --totalnodes 3 --version community --opscenter no --release 1.2.2

[...]

------------------------------------
DataStax AMI for DataStax Enterprise
and DataStax Community
AMI version 2.4
DataStax Community version 1.2.3-1

------------------------------------

It looks like "--release 1.2.2" is ignored.

Alain,

You are correct that it is an encoding issue. We now uri encode the names of presets, and it looks like presets that were saved unencoded, like yours with cf metrics, now no longer load.

A possible workaround is to uri encode the preset name in the settings row, or you can create new presets.

I have filed an ticket to address this issue.

The error appears when I try to load a preset that contains a CF metric created with OpsCenter 2.1.2, at this exact moment, as told before.

I created a new preset similar to the old ones and there is no issue, I can access it without a bug so far.

If I understood right what you asked for, here it is : http://pastebin.com/PjguHXVt

I saw this difference :

column=CF%3Astats_ad_uv (The only metrics with CF that works)
column=CF:algo_ad_newcapping (One of the none working metrics)

It looks like an encoding problem. Well you'll tell me :).

When did you first see the error? Is it when you first load OpsCenter in a browser, or is it only when you load that particular preset in the Performance section?

Are you able to create new presets that use cf metrics and load them in the latest version of OpsCenter?

"Do any of the presets without CF-metrics work?"

AFAIK yes. It seems that all the other presets are working fine.

But I guess it doesn't really matter since in the free opscenter version the "rebalance cluster" feature is unavailable.

Let me know if you need more information.

If you can look in the javascript console of your browser, there should be some more info about the error. Go ahead and paste whatever you can here. If you're using Chrome, you can find the JavaScript Console under "Tools". If you're using Firefox, you can find it under Tools -> Web Developer -> Web Console.

Hi,

I just upgrade our free version of OpsCenter to the last version.

I had some presets in the performance (metrics) section. They are still there but all the presets made using CF-metrics on all nodes are unreachable. I got the following error instead : "Error loading preset: Cannot read property '0' of null"

I couldn't find anything more on log files.

We use community C* 1.1.6 (with AMI 2.4) FWIW.

Do I have to redo all these presets (We got about 35 CF...) ?
