Would you please run ./nodetool -h localhost ring on the server where you run hive and post the result here? The error message is misleading, it should be 'connection failed.' This would be resolved in the beta-2 release. One is cassandra seed, next is cassandra client node and the third one is Brisk seed. Its in ring. I can able to create keyspace and column family in cassandra. when I try to create a table for cassandra CF using Hive, Its returns the error below, hive> create external table Cookie(row_key string, col1 string) > STORED BY 'org.apache.hadoop.hive.cassandra.CassandraStorageHandler' > WITH SERDEPROPERTIES("cassandra.ks.name" = "mSite"); FAILED: Error in metadata: org.apache.cassandra.hadoop.hive.metastore.CassandraHiveMetaStoreException: There was a problem with the Cassandra Hive MetaStore: Could not connect to Cassandra. Reason: Error connecting to node localhost FAILED: Execution Error, return code 1 from org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.exec.DDLTask can anyone help me where to change the configuration changes.. I dont find anywhere the localhost in hive folder. thanks in advance...
