No, you can't configure DSE search in that way. The reason is that in a regular Solr deployment, the values of any stored fields are held directly in the index files but in DSE Search, these values are stored in Cassandra column families. For Solr to be able to reconstruct documents in search results then, it needs to be able to retrieve those values from Cassandra. The network costs of doing this across the wire between nodes would be prohibitive, so DSE search co-locates its Solr indexes with the data for the corresponding token range in Cassandra .

Hi,

Can I mentioned that the DSE solr node would only hold the solr index data and not the actual cassandra data?
I want that my solr nodes only holds the solr indexes and the actual data should resides only in cassandra real time nodes .

Regards,
Amit
