I've had to do several adjustments to your instructions including - Set up a DHCP server so that the hostnames can be resolved properly for your scripts - Add several egress ports in the Cassandra VPC Security Group (53 for DNS and another one for GIT) Now I'm to an issue that I can't find a resolution for in the forums or on the net. It almost seems as if the AMI is trying to use the enterprise edition even though I specified the community edition. Here is my User Data String: --clustername cass --totalnodes 4 --version community --opscenter yes The ami.log is below.
