If you create your own hive database, then create hive tables that point to cassandra column families, then you can alter and drop those kinds of hive tables. However, if I do a hive drop table, then show tables, the hive table is still there (even after restarting everything). Do I have to also drop the cassandra column family in order to make the hive side go away? (That would be inconvenient while we are trying out different ways of modeling in hive.)
