This however is only true for customers who have support contracts though.

When the new ami comes out, run it with the -p option instead of the -o option since -p validates user:passes with other paid clients rather than free OpsCenter clients.

For free clients use these:
deb http://debian.riptano.com/maverick maverick main
deb-src http://debian.riptano.com/maverick maverick main
deb http://username:password@deb.opsc.datastax.com/free unstable main
deb-src http://username:password@deb.opsc.datastax.com/free unstable main

Either way, it appears as though sources.list doesn't always get updated with either of the repos until the new AMI comes out very soon after some more developmental features settle in.

Joaquin and I worked behind the scenes via email to resolve this.

He'll probably update the AMI with a fix, but in the meantime...

the last four lines of the sources.list file should be:

deb http://debian.riptano.com/maverick maverick main
deb-src http://debian.riptano.com/maverick maverick main
deb http://username:password@deb.opsc.datastax.com/ unstable main
deb-src http://username:password@deb.opsc.datastax.com/ unstable main

Then run:
sudo apt-get update

Finally:
sudo aptitude install opscenter

Can you actually send us your source.list via ZenDesk? This way we can have your user:pass in there as well?

Thanks!

Yup, sure did.

I'm thinking that user/pass combo might not be valid anymore? I got it before OpsCenter was officially released.

Can you verify it for me?

I just sent you my user/pass privately via email.

If you were to run: sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://whoami:p@sswordupyo@deb.opsc.datastax.com/free unstable main"
again, does your sources.list get updated?

If so, then run:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -y install opscenter-free

and you should have opscenter installed.

Please let me know if this work fine so I can fix this issue from occurring again.

Thanks!

What is the output of 'curl http://instance-data/latest/meta-data/ami-launch-index'?

If it's not 0, could you login to the machine where the AMI index is 0?

If it is 0, could you paste the output of your ~/.startlog?

Thanks,

I'm testing out a Brisk cluster using the Datastax AMI. Looking for where OpsCenter is located on there.

It's not at /usr/share/opscenter and I couldn't start the OpsCenter service on the first instance of the cluster:

ubuntu@ip-10-72-x-x:~/brisk$ sudo service opscenterd start
opscenterd: unrecognized service

During the EC2 instance launch, I correctly configured a username password that Datastax provided for OpsCenter:

-s 4 -v 2 -c 2 -n briskcluster -o myusername:mypassword
