can you deploy multiple cassandra/hadoop nodes with the development license (for benchmarking or capacity planning) ?

Sure thing. Do you have a setup in mind?
Feel free to use the Cassandra Launcher to do this easily and deterministically in EC2:
https://github.com/joaquincasares/cassandralauncherYou may want to tweak the instance_type in cassandralauncher.conf if you want to do heavier benchmarking.
I'm working on cleaning up the code for the AMI currently for a new release that will be easier to follow in the future. Hopefully then, you'll be able to easily replicate the steps the AMI takes on your own servers in the future.

Hi!
The development license allows for unlimited nodes in a non production environment. Benchmarking or capacity planning purposes should qualify under non production.
