Embedded Server with Cassandra 0.8.6

We are evaluating Cassandra for following purpose.
1. Can we use Cassandra for duplicate record identification from a distributed environment

Our actual requirement is to start Cassandra server with our product(As Embedded). Please see my below concerns
1. Is it possible to start Cassandra server as embedded[With in the application].
2. Is their Hector Embedded Server Support for Cassandra 0.8.6
3. Can we use Hector's Embedded Server in production environment.
Any one please help me to resolve above concerns.

The EmbeddedServerHelper class is capable of starting up Cassandra for embedded usage. I know of several folks who are doing this.

You will need to modify it slightly to strip the out-of-the-box behavior of removing all of the previous invocation's data (see cleanupAndLeaveDirs method).

Thank you zznate for you quick response. I had tried EmbeddedServerHelper. But inside this class their is static method named loadSchemaFromYaml(). This method internally call EmbeddedSchemaLoader.loadSchema(). But Cassandra 0.8.6 don't have org.apache.cassandra.config.Schema. Can I remove that method from EmbeddedServerHelper, since we are going to create KeySpace from from client. If I am wrong please correct me.

Make sure you are using the right version of hector - 0.8.0-3 for cassandra 0.8.x and 1.0 for cassandra 1.0.x

The internals wrapped my EmbeddedServerHelper (like Schema class) changed a bit between 0.8 and 1.0 in Cassandra. Either way, you will need to hack on it a bit.
