Hi. I recently discovered that any column family created via CQL3 is not visible to Thrift's describe keyspace call. This is a known limitation (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-4377).
For example, this call returns no CF's from my CQL3 generated schema:
KsDef ks_def = client.describe_keyspace("keyspace");
The hadoop code in Cassandra (my version is 1.2.4) uses this sort of call in many places so my map reduce job won't work unless I create my CF's using thrift.
Does the DSE solution also have this limitation or does DSE have a way to marry MapReduce with CQL3?
