Is there some way to reduce the metadata returned or disable it? I noticed the second call for a prepared statement is much faster but always the first call is slower even after the query has been rerun from a small java program. So if I have a java program and the preparedStatement is run twice the second time I run the program the first perparedStatement is slow again.
So I get 30-40msec the first time in the same program execution always and the second 1.5-2.8msec the second time.
So I have a theory that the meta data is slowing things down since it is cached at the preparedStatement level. Is there some way to disable sending metadata or cache it say at the connection object level to see what the performance might be? Even some minimal metadata setting might be good to have if it not there for the driver.
