While trying to run a select statement in hive, I got a java.net.ConnectException. I am able to run a simple select * successfully, but I believe that does not require map reduce.
agriffith is the name of my laptop which is running a brisk node. another computer is running a vanilla cassandra node which is .8 release (not beta). i am running hive from my laptop.
