Now that the Solr documentation is correctly updated to show that ngroups and facets are not supported across a sharded environment, how will Datastax respond? My understanding is DSE uses Cassandra's random partitioner which means that it is impossible to shard your data such that all query results will reside in a single shard. This means that all field collapsing features of Solr are not available in a Datastax Enterprise environment.
In an effort to consolidate free help offered for our products we have decided to move these forums to a more widely used forum. Please use one of the following queries (or any combination):
- Cassandra: tag search or plain text search
- DataStax Enterprise: tag search or plain text search
- DataStax OpsCenter: tag search or plain text search

Ken, distributed group by and facets will work in DSE.
Grouping works, group.ngroups does not because Solr does not support it in a distributed environment. We will support custom placement of local to a node data in the future.
If you are interested in having Solr support group.ngroups work correctly in a distributed environment, you may open an Apache Solr Jira issue.
