Sorry, we currently do not publish the src rpm or spec.

can we buy some sort of support to get access to sources?

Is there a particular reason you need the rpm src package? The community edition RPM is based 100% on the open source Apache code (we just repackage it for easier installation). Not trying to discourage you spending money with us of course ;-).

i need to repackage with some additional SysVInit bloat suited for our environment. plus we need 1.2 rpms we can test (and i don't want to build it from scratch if somebody has already did this work, and i want it to be compatible with 1.1 line).
given this is apache code, spec file should be somewhere to be found in repo, is it correct? i couldn't find it in http://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf/cassandra.git :(

The rpm spec was notoriously unmaintained in the open source C*, so the decision was made to remove it. DataStax provides the final packages as a courtesy, but we can not share the spec, sorry.

We usually ship the rpm's within a few weeks after the official release.

i made a reversed spec using rpmrebuild.

1.2 rpms with sources are published:
http://www.artegence.pl/kondi/apache-cassandra12-1.2.0-1.src.rpm
http://www.artegence.pl/kondi/apache-cassandra12-1.2.0-1.noarch.rpmnow you don't need to rely on strange datastax policy on source rpms.
take care :)
