As stated in the February 3, 2016 report, “Assessment of DataStax Enterprise with Cassandra,” authored by Gartner analyst Lyn Robison: “Big data and IoT requirements are pushing relational database management systems (RDBMSs) beyond their traditional limits and NoSQL technologies have emerged to complement RDBMSs. To select the right NoSQL database management system (DBMS), IT professionals should focus on the use cases for database management systems.” [1]

“We believe inclusion in this independent in-depth report, along with being recognized as a Leader in Gartner’s October 12, 2015 Magic Quadrant for Operational Database Management Systems, further attest to both the maturing of the NoSQL database market and DataStax’s position as a leading distributed database management technology provider,” said Robin Schumacher, VP, Products, DataStax. “There are certain must-have product features enterprises need to consider when evaluating table-style NoSQL DBMSs, including a scale-out architecture, support for mainstream programming languages, advanced security, linear scalability, analytics capabilities, data modeling and management tools, etc., and these features, along with many others, are what make DataStax the best fit for cloud applications.”

The full report can be found at Gartner and for additional details, please see Robin Schumacher’s blog post, titled “Gartner Assesses DataStax Enterprise”.
