Day 1 Opening Keynotes

Developers continue to accelerate change in the world. Every day new tools emerge that help them create better experiences across every aspect of life. Even though easy-to-use tools make it faster to develop better products, building apps that perform regardless of data location, size, and format remains a challenge. Similarly, operations and IT teams responsible for the deployment, upkeep, and support of new applications are simultaneously challenged and supported by new ways to deploy, be it on premises, in the cloud, or with a hybrid approach.

Watch as DataStax CEO Billy Bosworth shares how DataStax is working to make it easier for developers and operators to leverage new technologies and deployment options to accelerate the speed of business transformation, Deloitte Consulting Principal Mark White talks about Deloitte’s multi-model AI solutions on DataStax Enterprise Graph, diving into Deloitte’s MissionGraph and Opioid360 and how they help their clients address some of the most complex real-world problems of today and Judy Meyer, Microsoft VP of WW ISV Business, discusses how Microsoft Azure is helping companies achieve their transformational journey.

Day 2 Opening Keynotes

Day 2 kicks off with Nate McCall, Project Chair for Apache Cassandra, as he tells the story of Apache Cassandra, talking frankly about the changes in the community over the past couple of years and where it is now as a project. In Nate's own words: "We have come a long way in 10 years. What started as a side project to solve a specific problem using a mashup of distributed computing techniques has morphed into a mission-critical database relied on by some of the world’s largest companies. The journey to this point has had its ups and downs, drama, and intrigue. But it sure makes for a good story."

Immediately following is Jonathan Ellis, Co-Founder and CTO of DataStax, describing how DataStax is making it easier for developers to build modern applications with zero downtime, in whatever deployment model they want – from columnar to graph and hybrid cloud to multi cloud.

Day 2 Closing Keynote

In the information age, data is the new currency and access to it is power. With battle cries such as “Information wants to be free” and “Hack the planet”, Hackers have risen to infamy. But can we learn anything about innovation from them? The surprising fact is that hacking can, and often does, spur innovation. It exposes vulnerabilities and forces technologies to evolve, and consumers to demand something better. Hacking can often supply innovations, improve products, and demonstrates what is possible and how consumers want to use their technology.

This talk from Keren Elazari, Cyber Security Analyst, Author & Researcher, will show how companies and organizations that once fought hackers, can now invite them to collaborate – and how more and more people can embrace the creative aspects of hacker culture.

Thanks a lot for inviting and accepting me as a speaker as I had a blast meeting my former colleagues from other companies I worked in the past who are now also working with Cassandra, meeting and chatting with new folks, and listening to many interesting use cases which are now getting solved with DSE/Cassandra. It was a really great experience and I definitely want to continue to participate in the future.
