Bio

As Chief Operating Officer of the Cloud + AI Division, Charlotte Yarkoni is responsible for driving accelerated cloud adoption and customer success for all: startups, enterprises, partners, and students. Yarkoni’s team is responsible for programs and platforms that support the developer lifecycle, inclusive of the Microsoft for Startups programs, the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador program as well as the Azure marketplace, AppSource marketplace, and all other commerce experiences across Microsoft. To help customers better discover, use, and pay for Microsoft’s offerings, as well as improve how we engage our partners and field sellers in the processes, her team also consists of pre-sales and sales systems, as well as Microsoft’s finance systems.

Yarkoni's team also runs developer relations for Microsoft which publishes on-demand content across Microsoft products and services, and learning resources and forums such as Microsoft Learn, Microsoft Docs, developer.microsoft.com, and the Imagine Cup global student competition, making the team a strategic part of the company's all-important drive to advocate for all developers. Prior to joining Microsoft, Yarkoni spent three years at Telstra as President-Telstra Software Group. This strategic growth division focused on new global software businesses and capabilities in markets experiencing digital disruption adjacent to Telstra’s core telecommunications industry. As part of her role, Yarkoni led the acquisitions of Ooyala, Videoplaza and Nativ (now part of the Ooyala brand). She is also the co-founder of muru-D, which is an accelerator program operating in Australia and Singapore, with partners across the globe.

Previously, she held senior vice president positions at EMC and VMware, leading developers of IT infrastructure technology and solutions, including overseeing the launch of CloudFoundry, the industry’s first open-source Platform as a Service. Additionally, she managed emerging cloud-based businesses such as Mozy (now part of Carbonite), which provides cloud storage solutions for consumers and small businesses. She has an extensive background in cloud-based applications and has held C-level roles for both public and privately held technology firms including CEO of a high-tech start-up. Yarkoni has also worked for AT&T, IBM, and Accenture.

She earned her bachelor's degree in Management Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and has previously served as Vice Chairman at Ooyala and Board of Director of the Seattle Humane Society.

Yarkoni lives in Kirkland, Washington with her family.
