At Accelerate 2019, government agencies and integrators alike came to share their stories and success using DataStax and Apache Cassandra™ to solve their biggest data challenges.
Deloitte’s MissionGraph built the SPART-N system which integrates 11 data sources (12 TB data) into one analytic environment. We will introduce SPART-N and explain how Apache Cassandra, Solr, and DataStax Enterprise Graph is used to provide analysts a 360-degree view of suspects.Learn More
The Department of Defense (DoD) and other government agencies are continuing to enact policies and procedures to counter ever-expanding threats to the global supply chain for goods and services. These initiatives are designed to increase contractor compliance and reduce national security risk. For example, Section 881 of the 2019 NDAA bolsters the federal government’s ability to combat supply chain risk by empowering DoD leaders to "exclude contractors from certain procurement actions in the interest of national security." While this policy is a step in the right direction: How do acquisition leaders gain visibility into risk factors and supplier relationships across an increasingly complex procurement landscape? We’ll cover how reducing supply chain risk, strengthening vetting, and procurement process requires deep correlation of real-time activities, supply chain elements, and security risks, including: Risk scoring, regulatory compliance, and audit Supply chain analytics Material relationships Visualize dependency and impacts Optimization We’ll wrap up with a demo on rough cut planning in real time, routing optimization, supply and demand optimization, warehouse inventory leveling, decision planning, efficiency and shortest path, geospatial, Sankey and flow visuals, and impact analysis and relationship viewing.Learn More
Booz Allen Hamilton was awarded the Recreation 1 Stop (R1S) project in 2016, a 10+ year-long project to rebuild and operate the ticketing and permit website for all of America’s national parks: Recreation.gov. It currently supports 3,500 sites and activities, over 100,000 reservable locations and inventory, and all this for the 19 million outdoor enthusiasts with accounts, plus you too. We chose Cassandra as the primary database in order to achieve the proposed hot:hot site configuration between the East and West Coasts and deployed it into AWS environments. Building commenced in July 2017 with go-live contractually set for October 1, 2018. During this presentation, I will discuss the prototyping OSS C*, the adoption of DataStax’s proprietary solution, building and automating efforts, viral events, team and resource constraints, the struggles that come with each, and finally DataStax’s support engagements. Go-live was a success due, in no small part, to the help of DataStax.Learn More
Applications designed for the public sector rarely get the treatment and attention they need or deserve. That’s about to change. A new climate of data speed and readiness, spawned by the Right-Now Economy and the Right-Now Customer, has made unlocking the full potential of all data a key aspect to delivering powerful, mission-critical applications that enrich lives as much as they save them. Read this white paper to learn how it happens.
The data management needs of federal agencies is changing rapidly. Today’s agencies need a data management strategy that allows their application developers to quickly and easily build and deploy modern applications in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. This strategy is one that will need to be built on a database natively designed for hybrid cloud. In this market trends report, GovLoop partners with DataStax, a global leader in hybrid cloud database transformation, to explore the myriad benefits of hybrid cloud and define the best practices to overcome some of the more common challenges federal agencies face with moving to hybrid and multi cloud computing environments.
The public sector has invested in big time in big data. But there’s one thing most public sector entities are dropping the ball on: real-time data, and how it can be combined with big data to increase citizen safety and make mission-critical digital transformation projects happen on-time and on budget. Read this white paper to learn why public sector entities need both big data and real-time data if they are going to deliver on their digital transformation promises.
